Balloon expandable vs. self-expandable transcatheter aortic valve prosthesis short-term results of retrospective study

چکیده
Transcutaneous aortic valve implantation has been established as an effective method for the treatment of highgrade stenosis in non-operative, high-risk conventional surgery patients. According to developed technologies, prostheses are divided into balloon-expandable (balloon-expandable valves, BEV) and self-expanding (self-expanding SEV). The two types devices have different models implantation, stratum architecture, cusps characteristics, leading hemodynamics, frequency use performance normal prosthesis function. research aims monitor short-term results, up 1 month after discharge, terms mortality, manifestation heart failure, (para) prosthetic regurgitation, a pacemaker, vascular complications. Materials methods: article presents retrospective follow-up total 230 cardiac patients with high-grade treated cardiology clinic at UMHAT St. Ekaterina Sofia until 2020, groups depending on implanted type prosthesis. Conclusions: results obtained based our experience prove safety new prostheses. When choosing between BEV SEV, best clinical outcome requires good knowledge strengths weaknesses using medical personalized approach consistent anatomical characteristics patient.

Comparison of balloon-expandable vs self-expandable valves in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement: the CHOICE randomized clinical trial.
IMPORTANCE Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is an effective treatment option for high-risk patients with severe aortic stenosis. Different from surgery, transcatheter deployment of valves requires either a balloon-expandable or self-expandable system. A randomized comparison of these 2 systems has not been performed. OBJECTIVE To determine whether the balloon-expandable device is...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to demonstrate the first-in-human feasibility and short-term clinical outcomes with a new balloon-expandable transcatheter heart valve (THV). BACKGROUND The SAPIEN 3 (S3) THV incorporates a paravalvular sealing system, an active 3-dimensional coaxial positioning catheter, and is compatible with a 14-F expandable sheath. METHODS The S3 THV was implanted i...

Options for transcatheter aortic valve implantation: comparing self-expanding with balloonexpandable valves The advent of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has offered clinicians the option of managing patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis, who are at high operative risk, the possibility of replacing the aortic valve without requiring a full open-heart surgery. Two techn...

BACKGROUND To retrospectively investigate the potential cause of contained rupture of the aortic root in balloon-expandable transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) by means of pre- and postinterventional multislice computed tomography. METHODS AND RESULTS Seventy-two patients (mean age 82±7 years, mean aortic valve area 0.69±0.19 cm(2)) underwent balloon-expandable TAVI using the Edwar...
